Party Time

Hello everyone!!

This week was another goody, the mission life is good and I'm happy. December is a crazy time of year here in Baños because there is a party or parade or show or something every single day of the month, so it's pretty exciting. It's a little harder to find people to teach because everyone is in the streets having a grand ol' time, but we're working hard and loving life.

Carlos and his family, La Familia Gomez, moved, but thankfully they're still in our area. We went to go visit them the other day and when we got to their house, all their stuff was sitting outside in front, so we walked up and went and helped them bring all their stuff down and load it in the truck. We couldn't go to their new house, but we knew that it was in Barrio Santa Ana and in a really narrow path. The next day, we went and searched for their house. We found a narrow path in Barrio Santa Ana, but we didn't see anyone in any of the houses, so we just kept walking. We ended up walking back and were able to find their house and talk with them for a second and invite them to our Ward Christmas Activity, it was sweet.

I taught an English class this week. The Church has a program called English Connect and normally when they have class I just go and help with the pronunciation or grammar, but that's it. This week, however, I had to teach it because the teacher was traveling. It was actually really fun and it turned out really well, I was proud of myself. If any of you want English classes, let me know.

I hit 10 months this past week, and it was on my Dad's birthday, so it was a double special day.

I remembered a scripture that I really love this week. It talks about the power and importance of prayer, it's in The Book of Mormon, in Alma 37. The verses say, "36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day."

If we can pray consistently and rely on the Lord, we will be blessed and receive the help we need. Simple as that. I invite you all to make your prayers a little more meaningful, a little more personal. It has helped me a ton.

That's all I've got this week! This upcoming week we have some exciting stuff happening, so I'll make sure next week's update has all the juicy details.

Love you all!! Have a great week!
